If you wish to claim the priority of an earlier application for the same design made outside of Ireland within the last 6 months you must indicate the priority country, the date of filing of the earlier application and the number allocated to the earlier application. The Patents Office will accept a PDF of the priority certificate issued by the competent national authority. You can either submit this PDF at the time of application or within 3 months of the date of filing. Documents in other formats will not be accepted.
